چکیده

Two stereo-vision-based mobile robots navigate and autonomously explore their environment safely while building occupancy grid maps of the environment. The robots maintain position estimates within a global coordinate frame using landmark recognition. This allows them to build a common map by sharing position information and stereo data. Stereo vision processing and map updates are done at 3Hz and the robots move at speeds of 200 cm/s. Cooperative mapping is achieved through autonomous exploration of unstructured and dynamic environments. The map is constructed conservatively, so as to be useful for collision-free path planning. Each robot maintains a separate copy of a shared map, and then posts updates to the common map when it returns to observe a landmark at home base. Issues include synchronization, mutual localization, navigation, exploration, registration of maps, merging repeated views (fusion), centralized vs decentralized maps.

Cooperative Control of Mobile Robots in Creating a Runway Platform for Quadrotor Landing

Multi-agent systems are systems in which several agents accomplish a mission in a cooperative manner. In this paper, a novel idea for the construction of a movable runway platform based on multi-agent systems is presented. It is assumed that an aerial agent (quadrotor) decides to make an emergency landing due to reasons such as a decrease in energy level or technical failure, while there is no ...

A New Intelligent Approach to Patient-cooperative Control of Rehabilitation Robots

This paper presents a new intelligent method to control rehabilitation robots by mainly considering reactions of patient instead of doing a repetitive preprogrammed movement. It generates a general reference trajectory based on different reactions of patient during therapy. Three main reactions has been identified and included in reference trajectory: small variations, force shocks in a single ...

Cooperative localization and control for multi-robot manipulation

We describe a framework for coordinating multiple robots in cooperative manipulation tasks in which vision is used for establishing relative position and orientation and maintaining formation. The two key contributions are a cooperative scheme for localizing the robots based on visual imagery that is more robust than decentralized localization, and a set of control algorithms that allow the rob...

Distributed Cooperative Outdoor Multirobot Localization and Mapping

The subject of this article is a scheme for distributed outdoor localization of a team of robots and the use of the robot team for outdoor terrain mapping. Localization is accomplished via Extended Kalman Filtering (EKF). In the distributed EKF-based scheme for localization, heterogeneity of the available sensors is exploited in the absence or degradation of absolute sensors aboard the team mem...

Cooperative Behavior Acquisition by Learning and Evolution of Vision-Motor Mapping for Mobile Robots

This paper proposes a number of learning and evolutionary methods contributed to realize cooperative behaviors among vision-based mobile robots in a dynamically changing environment. There are three difficult problems: partial observation, credit assignment, and synchronized learning. In order to solve these problems, we propose the fundamental model called Local Prediction Model, which can est...
